Contract with Coos County

Dear Coos County,

I present my Contract with We The People of Coos County for your consideration:

I will defend your rights.

Rights are sacred; they come from God, are codified in our Constitution, and not granted by or reconciled through any government.

I will stand for election integrity.

Our vote is our input to public policy, and I will stand against anything that would undermine or suppress the voice of We The People.

I will stand for local control.

We The People of Coos County are best qualified to determine the ideal management of our resources: our timber, our salmon, our schools (and their curricula), our land use and zoning, our fiscal affairs, our parental and medical choices should not be made by unelected, unaccountable and unresponsive bureaucrats in Salem.

I will bring unprecedented levels of transparency and public involvement to County political (decision making) processes.

I will honor and support funding of law enforcement. 

The safety of our law-abiding citizens and the officers that protect them must be supported.

I will stand against the epidemic of child, human and drug trafficking in Coos County.

Our police must have jail space so they can detain the criminals that prey on our communities.

I will defend your 2nd Amendment rights unequivocally. 

"Shall not be infringed" means what it says.

I will support vocational training to promote a fertile, local free market landscape.

County policy should give deference to our local businesses that have weathered all the storms to make this the place we love and call home.

I will expose corruption on any level.

Regardless the political consequences, I will always stand for truth and transparency. The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and I will never tolerate graft of any kind – let the chips fall where they may.

I will honor my Oath to the letter.

My unwavering commitment to We the People of Coos County is to always remain accessible and accountable. I will always listen to and respect you, even if we disagree.

I love God, my Country, my community and its People.
